Deep Tissue Massage
Firmer pressure for tight muscles and stubborn knots.
Deep tissue works slower and firmer than a Swedish massage, staying on the areas that are actually tight instead of covering the whole body evenly. Most of the session usually goes on the upper back, shoulders and neck, because that is where desk work and driving tend to settle.
It can feel intense while a knot is being worked, and it should never cross into pain — tell the therapist and the pressure comes down. Some tenderness the next day is normal.
Good for
- Knots in the shoulders, neck or lower back
- Tightness that keeps coming back in the same spot
- Long hours at a desk or behind the wheel
